INTRODUCTION

Career Oriented course on Data Management for Social Sciences

Data handling is extremely important for both research and official purposes. It is a process of collecting, presenting and storing information for further analysis. This course is aimed to make students of Social Science and Humanities departments familiar with research and data collection procedures and to enable them gain confidence in fundamentals of data management.

OBJECTIVES

• To introduce students of Social Science (Sociology, Psychology, Political Science) and Humanities (Bengali, Hindi, English, Communicative English, Sanskrit, History, Journalism and Mass Communication, Philosophy) departments to the basic concepts of data management
• To generate interest among students of humanities for doing Survey using various types of data collection method
• To make students understand the importance of data in their daily life
