INTRODUCTION

Certificate Course on Sahityabhittik Peshaprobesh

The Bengali Department of Asutosh College, Kolkata — 700026 is pleased to propose a Certificate Course in Sahiabhittik Peshaprobesh which is primarily aimed at the Under-Graduate students of this college. The duration of this course is of 50 Hours having total 16 Credits for evaluation. The course may be made available to external students after taking into account feasibility issues.

This course envisages to acquaint students with the concept and technicalities of editing, publishing, content writing, copy writing and script writing. The focus would be on materials and books published in printed form. Also, there will be general introduction about digital publishing and content in different media. This course intends to equip students with knowledge and confidence to explore evolving avenues in the job market. The course will be conducted mainly via e-learning mode. Workshops and industry interactions are being proposed for practical experiences of the students.

The course consists of four modules with each module having duration of 13 Hours and 4 Credits (25Marks). Evaluation will be done for both written and practical forms of domain knowledge. However, certificates will be awarded on gradation basis keeping in conformity with the prevailing norms.

Students who do not want to pursue academic career per se may find this course useful as a gateway to non-academic career path after having studied literature at the Under-Graduate level. Students from other disciplines may also be interested to explore career opportunities in fields of publishing, media and mass communications. This course intends to equip both kind of students with primary knowledge of its subject matter.
