Guidelines for Authors

Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work submitted has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities - tacitly or explicitly - at the institute where the work has been carried out.

The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation. The authors should acknowledge the funding agency, if any.

The journal will not send any submitted manuscript with more than 15 % plagiarism for peer review.

The journal also declares that submission of a manuscript does not guarantee its acceptance.

Manuscript preparation

Articles submitted to journal 'Sayam' should conform to the guidelines indicated below.
  1. The initial submission must be an OCR-enabled editable PDF file with figures and tables with captions presented sequentially after the reference list. In addition, an MS docx. file of the same manuscript has to be submitted along with the PDF format.
  2. The first page of the manuscript file should contain the title of the manuscript, the name of author(s) with affiliations, their email address (preferably institutional emails), ORCID ID of the authors (if any), and five keywords.
  3. The main font would be 12 pt. normal Times New Roman with 1.5 line spacing.
  4. Concise and informative title must be provided. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible. Use 14 pt. bold Times New Roman font for the title.
  5. The Keywords list is intended to provide additional searchable terms, not in the title of the manuscript.
  6. Link the affiliations to the authors' names using lowercase superscript letters immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. The name of the corresponding authors should be followed by a superscript lowercase star (*).
  7. The second page of research and review articles should contain the title followed by the abstract. Submissions in the other categories (short communications, opinions, commentary, and letter to the editor) do not require an abstract.
  8. Research and review articles are to be restricted to 3500 words excluding references. Articles of these two categories should be divided into sections like Abstract and Introduction (which includes the justification of the problem addressed in the article). The 'Abstract' must not be more than 300 words. The abstract should not carry any abbreviation or reference. The abstract is expected, but not strictly, to be followed by conventional article sections like 'Introduction' stating the justification of the work, 'Methodology', 'Result(s) and Observation(s)', 'Discussion', and 'Conclusion'.
  9. Submissions in the other categories (short communications, opinions, commentary, and letter to the editor) must not contain any section. Those are to be written as running text with paragraph divisions. The word limit for (i) short communications is 1500, (ii) opinions is 800, (iii) commentary is 800, and (iv) letter to the editor is 1000.
  10. The entire text should contain continuous line numbers and page numbers.
  11. List of references is to be typed after the main text. Instructions for listing the references and citing references within the text are as follows.
  12. The references should follow the American Psychologists Association (APA) 6 format followed by the DOI (wherever available) of the referred article.
  13. Type of reference to be cited
