Asutosh College from the outset has always valued sports as being of paramount importance which helps students reach a different platform of recognition in society apart from curricular activities.
The College has enjoyed the use of its own ground in the Maidan since 1952 jointly with the Bangabashi College. The Asutosh College Tent was inaugurated by Justice Ramaprasad Mookerjee on 1st December, 1956. It is obviously a matter of pride and exception for a college to have its own sports ground in the heart of the city.
The achievements of the College have never been lopsided. It’s wonderful academic records have been more than matched by its unique records in the field of sports and games. Asutosh College has been traditionally known as the nursery of sporting talents who have brought laurels not only for the College but for the country in both national and international events.
