Sanitizer Preparation

The students Professors and the laboratory staffs of Chemistry and Biochemistry Department prepared the hand sanitizer in the laboratory of Chemistry Department on 2nd March 2022 and had planned and decided to distribute in orphanage and slum areas.

Visit to Providence Orphanage

Department of Biochemistry visited the Providence Bhavan, on 6thMarch 2022 an orphanage established by the Don Bosco Missionary, to help underprivileged kids in need of a home.

Theydistributed scrumptious lunches for them also donated notebooks and other stationaries, groceries, and basic andsanitary hygiene products.

Our students arrived around noon, and were escorted into a huge hall, by their lead sister. There were around 12 girls in total, with ages ranging from 13-17.

They taught them about basic sanitary hygiene, sexual harassment and how to protect yourself in midst of dangerous situations.Posters were made to aid with learning, and a self-defense presentation was given by our students with wonderful presentation.

After the presentation, the girls performed two beautiful dances for them, both choregraphed to perfection.

All in all, it was a wonderful day for us. It was a huge learning experience for both parties involved, and are very humbled and glad to be provided such an opportunity by vice-principle, our head of the department, and our hard-working professors, who helped us in every step of the way to lead us into a successful trip for charity.

Visit to Slum Area

Department of Chemistry visited a slum Area near Vidyasagar Pathabhavan (Primary School), 119, S.P Mukherjee Road, Kolkata 700026, (Kalighat Metro Area)on8thApril 2022 to help those needy peoples.

Extension Activity in 2020-2021
  1. In the year 2020-2021 the college was closed for students due to the pandemic situation. But the teachers, nonteaching staff and a group of students took responsibility to help the people of locality with sanitizers which was prepared by the faculties of Department of Chemistry.
  2. During the natural calamity “ Yash Cyclone” during May 2021 the college provided the shelters, food to the people who have no shelters
