Curricular History
A premier academic institution under the University of Calcutta, Asutosh College, then South Suburban College has a rich and progressive history in the arena of academics and curriculum. The College was granted affiliation up to the intermediate standard in arts in such subjects as English, Vernacular composition, Sanskrit, Logic, History, Mathematics and Botany in the academic session 1916-1917. For the last hundred years and more it has grown gracefully and presently it aims to provide quality education to students from all strata of society. The College is also focused to look after the educational needs for the underprivileged students through different developmental programmes. NAAC Accreditation
We are the first college in West Bengal to undergo the process of Assessment and Accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of India, in 2002, under the new scheme initiated by the UGC. Asutosh College has currently been graded as NAAC Grade A with CGPA 3.22 in 2016.
