TITLE OF EVENT:"PLANT DONATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL REHABILITATION"
DATE: 23.04.2023
TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME AT 'SUSHRUT' MEDICINAL PLANT GARDEN, BHASA CAMPUS, ORGANIZED BY MEDICINAL PLANT GARDEN COMMITTEE AND IQAC-ASUTOSH COLLEGE
RESOURCE PERSONS: DR. AMITAVA GHOSH AND DR. MITHU BISWAS

The primary objective of the programme is environmental rehabilitation. The Medicinal Plant Garden and the adjoining areas were completely destroyed by the devastating Amphan cyclone in 2020. The existing plots in the garden are replenished with new saplings mostly donated by the students and faculties of various departments of the College. Students learned to identify different medicinal plants and through the Tree plantation programme, they became aware of the need for conservation of these plants. They not only got acquainted with the diversity of the plant kingdom in their natural habitats but also felt the urge in conserving and protecting our environment.
