Placement Cell

INTRODUCTION

The Placement Cell is an important part of a developed and competitive institution and is considered as one of the most important unit of an educational institution. Asutosh College Placement Cell has a team of committed experts who always come forward to impart invaluable suggestions for the betterment of the students. The Placement Cell of the College is well networked with Industries and its primary aim is to find a suitable job for our students in reputed companies.

The placement cell has an excellent placement record and has successfully placed a large section of graduates who have appeared for placements. Asutosh College Placement Cell has successfully aided in providing opportunities and employment to its outgoing students.

Asutosh College Placement Cell aims at creating an interface between the world of employment and the academia, thereby making it mutually beneficial to the students/alumni of the Institute. Every year we invite and host companies on our campus to hold recruitments for our students and many leading corporate recruit a considerable number of students from our campus.

We are committed to a successful future and better placement opportunity for our students. The Placement Cell             takes care of the correspondence with the prospective employers, arranging on-campus as well as off-campus placement drives, personal campus interviews and other facilities that may be required by visiting companies.

THE BEGINNING

This Cell started working under the leadership of Dr. Abhik Kundu, Associate Professor in Geology and other members from 2010. 

OBJECTIVES

  • To create awareness among students regarding available career options and help them in identifying career objectives.
  • To provide employment information as well as information on various courses of higher studies in India and abroad.
  • To identify suitable potential employers and help them achieve their hiring goals.
  • To act as a bridge between students, alumni and employers.
  • To assist our students in obtaining final placement in reputed companies.
  • To organize campus recruitment for the students with industries and business houses of repute from all over India.
  • To promote career counselling by organizing seminars.

PROCESS

The members of the Cell take initiatives to get in contact with many reputed companies. The proposal for on-campus interview is scrutinized and the sates for the campus interviews are given to the recruiters.

On-campus Interviews are organised on the scheduled dates. The correspondence with regard to date of Interview is intimated immediately to the students through College notice Board and SMS service. After the interview, the schools/departments send their short-listed names to the Cell .The students are given the intimation immediately.

All the proposals for off Campus interviews are displayed on the Student Notice Board as well as the Placement Notice Board. We also maintain a database for students and share them with some of the companies who wish to contact with the students individually and ask to walk-in for the interview.
