About the Cell
INTRODUCTION
The Asutosh College Publication Cell was established in April, 2013, the year of the 150th Birth Anniversary of the college Founder-President, Sir Asutosh Mukherjee, which was celebrated by students and staff of the College in an appropriately grand fashion. Plans for setting up a Publication unit had been mooted earlier, but the journey began with the successful publication of Asutosh: Vidyar Sarathi, in June, 2014, a commemorative volume on the life and times of Sir Asutosh. This publication was a joint effort by the Publication Division of Asutosh College and the Asutosh Mookerjee Memorial Institute, Kolkata.
THE BEGINNING
The Publication Cell was initially known as the Publication Division. The Division started functioning under the able stewardship ofDr. Binayak Mishra (Department of Zoology) and other members from 2013.

In July, 2014, the Publication Division was renamed as the Publication Cell, with Prof. Raikamal Dasgupta andDr. Sraboni Roy, Associate Professors in English, as joint conveners, and other members.
OBJECTIVES
- To facilitate all publications by the college including yearly Prospectus;
- To suitably archive various research data from the College’s Research Cell;
- To make research outcome available more conveniently through in-house publication;
- To showcase the achievements of the college;
- To publish special/ commemorative Volumes, Magazines and Seminar/Conference/Workshop Proceedings, etc.
