INTRODUCTION
The Website Maintenance Committee of Asutosh College works for functionality enhancement of the College website. The Committee takes strategic initiatives for the website in presenting it to the college authority for review for subsequent updation and addition. The Committee looks after the website design and user interface, and develops contents for timely update. The Committee systematically coordinates with other committees while updating and uploading relevant information.
THE BEGINNING
The committee started functioning under the leadership of Dr. Manas Kabi, Bursar and Associate Professor in Bengali, Asutosh College. Managed by Dr. Tathagata Ray Chaudhuri, Associate professor in Botany; Dr. Avik Kundu, Associate professor in Geology; Dr. Arup Pal, Assistant Professor in English; Dr. Arnab Kumar Ghoshal, Assistant Professor in Computer Science; the committee officiates works from revampment of the website to the timely updation, from uploading of subject-specific modules to convenient user interface. In 2021 with the technical help from Infotech Lab, the committee revived the College website, though which a wide range of digital services both for students and staff was introduced. For that, the committee took a leading role in organizing a specially designed ‘Digital Training Programme (Enterprise Resource Planning) on October 7, 2021 at Centenary Building for teaching and non-teaching staff so that they can get acquainted with the new interface and other enhanced online facilities available on our website.
Our revamped website was inaugurated on October 8, 2021, at 1 pm, by Dr. Dipak Kumar Kar, the Honourable Vice Chancellor of Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University and Principal of Asutosh College, who enlightened us about the history and legacy of this esteemed institution, and encouraged for online emphasis under Covid’19. Further enrichment about the importance of a highly functional website came from Sri Apurba Ray, Vice-Principal, and Dr. Manas Kabi, Bursar. Sri Uttaran Banerjee, General Secretary of Asutosh College, highlighted the engagement of students in making this institution a pioneering one. The newly revived website began functioning for all soon after its inauguration.
