Members of Sparsha have in recent months being establishing contact with retired professors of Asutosh College. At the same time, contacts have also been reestablished with many of our former colleagues who had migrated to universities in the state and elsewhere. Our initial drive has been data specific. A great deal of information has been obtained about and from our retired- but not forgotten colleagues. We trust that we have been able to begin establishing an ecosystem which will work as a support system for our extended family as and when the need arises.

A second aspect of our drive, has a more enduring goal in mind. Sparsha aims to connect the past with the future. This is something often lacking in our country, where institutional memories are short. To rectify this, our team has been meeting our retired colleagues at their homes and interacting with them and sometimes recording their memories- which are the oral history of our college. Their interactions which in atmosphere and anecdotes. Provide a platform which we hope to build on in the near future.
