Career Counselling and Training Programme
INTRODUCTION
Career Counselling and Training Programme of Asutosh College has been set up to assist the students/ candidates in directing their potential towards appropriate ends, thereby enabling them to take correct career decisions. The objective is to guide and counsel the students based on their aptitudes, thus paving the way towards more satisfying and rewarding careers. It encompasses a broad section of society starting from school, college, university students/ candidates to the career changers in the corporate world. We have adopted a scientific and comprehensive process to aid in Career Guidance through various methods of evaluations and assessments.
THE BEGINNING
The Unit was started under the leadership of Dr. Pooja Chatterjee, Assistant Professor in Psychology, from 2002. The Unit was later renamed as ‘Career Counselling’.
In 25/02/2020, the Unit was renamed as “Career Counselling and Training Programme” and started functioning freshly under the leadership of Dr. Chandramalli Sengupta, Associate Professor in Bengali.
OBJECTIVES
The Programme has adopted a scientific and comprehensive process to aid in Career Guidance through various methods of evaluations and assessments namely:
- Basic introduction to various career options in each subject
- Approximate the interest of individual students
- Guidance for Competitive Examinations and allied areas
- Assist a student to make better and informed decisions
- Practical training for professional etiquettes
- Cognitive analysis of individual interest
- Evaluate and develop intellectual, mental and personal growth of students
- Work on the basis of overall feedback process from students and parents.
