Introduction

The field of Social Entrepreneurship strives to solve the problems related to man, society and environment using the knowledge of Sociology, Business Management and Entrepreneurship. The field has developed and prospered rapidly in past few years owing to the rising demands of social sector across the world. The global politico-economic-social developments have led to an ever-rising gap between the have and have-nots and thus, an increased need for fresh perspectives to answer the question of inequality, access to resources and sustainable solutions to local-regional problems. Social sector needsprofessionals who can take the leadership roles and offer sustainable solutions to existing social problems and situations.

Theonline and virtualcertificate course of ‘social entrepreneurship&social work’ aims to offer a platform to professionals and students to become ‘agents of change’ for our society.

The objectives of the ‘Social entrepreneurship and Social Work’certificate course are to:

  • Develop individuals as entrepreneurs with an aim to solve social sector problems of urban and rural nature;
  • Enable individuals to understand and work with community development initiatives;
  • Create an environment for dialogue, advocacy and further research about society, human rights and environment;
  • Offer a window of professional opportunities and social sector start-up knowledge.

Distinctive features of the courseare: inductive pedagogy, interactive virtual classroom sessions, carefully curated contextualised case-studies, expert talks by industry leaders, flexible timings and end-of -the course brainstorming-incubation session.

The certificate courses are designed and oriented to make the current Indian Higher Education System more relevant and career oriented with focus on quality and excellence. The programmes are designed to ensure that graduates who pass out after completing the courses would have knowledge, skills and aptitude for meaningful employment in the industry in general and self-employment in particular. To enrich and empower the students, Asutosh college has introduced need-based, value-added certificate courses as a parallel sub-discipline while pursuing their degree level education.

  1. One google classroom platform to upload all study materials, videos and assignments.
  2. One Whatsapp group with ONLY FACULTIES of the department as ADMIN and students
  3. Google meet virtual classroom links of faculties for their respective classes.
