ORNAMENTAL FISH KEEPING AND BASICS OF AQUAPONIC FARMING

INTRODUCTION

Aquarium is an artificially made confinement for various kinds of aquatic organism like their natural ground or in common language it can be said that aquarium is a system where various kinds of aquatic organism can be displayed as they are in natural habitat.  Basically various kinds of ornamental or colorful fish are kept in aquarium.  But not only fish even aquatic plants and other types of aquatic organism like shrimp, snail, crayfish, crabs etc. can also be kept here. Aquarium serves mainly the purpose of beautification of room or any public sector places, gives a soothing effect to eye, reduce mental stress. Aquarium also provides a very good option to study or to visualize various aquatic organisms very closely in the artificially made ecosystem. Thus aquarium becomes a very lucrative business throughout the world now.  Proper learning can help one to set up a perfect beautiful aquarium.

One major problem for the sustainable aquaculture is the treatment of nutrient-rich wastewater, which is a by-product of all the Intensive aquaculture practices. To minimize this issue Aquaponics could be alternative fish farming methods over all traditional fish farming to reduce the environmental degradation. Aquaponics is a modern day integration farming between plants and fish in a same nutrient cycle and the term originates from the two words aquaculture (the growing of fish in a closed environment) and hydroponics (the growing of plants in a soil-less environment). Today aquaponics become one of the most evolving eco-friendly aqua farming techniques in limited space and water efficiency. Indeed, this is a very economical technique to employ commercial agriculture with aquaculture in water scarce and soil less polluted areas.

Course Benefits

Rapidly growing industry will need an increasing number of trained and educated individuals to fill job like Aqua-farming Technician, Specialize in fish health. A perfectly designed course can conclude a trainee with proper scientifically knowledge of aquarium and aquaponics system management which will help them to opt a different professional skill. A technologically sound people can only learn the proper way for setting of an aquarium by making a natural environment but in artificial perspective. Aquaponics allows us to grow more food at home, for our communities. This means more nutrition since it’s fresh and much less of all the negatives inputs like chemical pesticides with long distance transportation. And only a perfect environment with the proper living object can make a viable and healthy aquarium for a long duration. So this course would be a beneficial and demanding one for all the students to go for a different profession instead of their main stream job.

The courses are totally skill based with practical importance and designed in such a manner so that participant can raise their interest in this two most important emerging techniques of livelihood generation.
